Quoting is where revenue quietly leaks.
Most teams can tell you what they sold. Far fewer can tell you why the price was what it was, who approved the discount, or how many days the quote sat waiting. We build the revenue operations layer that answers all three, inside Salesforce, on the smallest stack your pricing can actually live in.
Three ways quoting breaks.
The configurator is a spreadsheet
One person maintains the workbook. Price changes reach the team by email, versions fork on desktops, and nobody can reconstruct how last quarter's numbers were built.
Pricing nobody can auditApprovals are the bottleneck
Discounts route to whoever answers first. Deals wait days for a decision no system is timing, and the pattern of what gets approved is invisible to the people accountable for margin.
Cycle time you cannot seeThe quote and the invoice disagree
Sales quotes one thing, the billing system charges another, and finance reconciles by hand at every close. The gap shows up as credits, disputes, and a forecast nobody trusts.
Reconciliation by handThe quoting layer, end to end.
Six pieces. You rarely need all of them at once, and we will say so.
Guided quote generation
Reps answer questions about the deal, not a product catalog. The quote assembles itself from the rules your team already enforces informally, with the revenue math done once and done right.
Product and pricing architecture
Product families, bundles, rate cards, term and volume tiers, multi-year escalators, and currency. Modeled so a price change is a configuration task, not a rebuild.
Discount and approval governance
Thresholds tied to margin, not job title. Every exception routed, timed, and recorded, so discounting becomes a pattern you can manage instead of a rumor.
Document generation and signature
Branded quotes, proposals, and statements of work generated from live records, sent for e-signature, and written back to the opportunity without a manual step in the middle.
Quote to cash
Closed-won carries through to order, contract, invoice, and revenue schedule, integrated with the ERP or billing platform so nobody rekeys a line item to make the month close.
Renewals and amendments
Amendments, upsells, co-terms, and renewals built from the existing contract rather than a blank quote, so the install base stays accurate and recurring revenue is a number you can defend.
Model the deal, then pick the tool.
-
Map how you actually price
Who discounts, what gets bundled, where the exceptions live, and which rules are written down versus carried in someone's head. That model drives the decision. The product license does not.
-
Choose the smallest stack that holds
Revenue Cloud, Salesforce CPQ, native quotes with configured logic, or a purpose-built Lightning Web Component when the pricing is specific enough to deserve one. We recommend the lightest option that fits, including telling you when you do not need CPQ at all.
-
Automate the ordinary, govern the exception
The common quote should build itself in a click. The unusual one should route to a person who sees the margin math on screen before they decide, with the decision recorded against the deal.
-
Close the loop to cash
A quote that does not reach the invoice cleanly is not finished. The handoff to billing and ERP is designed as part of the build, with the failure modes agreed up front, not deferred to a phase two that never gets funded.
RevOps is the rest of the system.
Quoting is the sharpest edge of revenue operations, but it is not the whole job. We also build the pipeline definitions and stage criteria that describe real buying behavior, the forecast leadership can defend in a board meeting, the territory and quota structures underneath it, and the marketing-to-sales handoff across Salesforce and HubSpot. Then we write down who owns what, how requests come in, and how changes ship, so the system keeps working after we leave.
Not sure quoting is the problem?
If the quote is slow because the data underneath it is wrong, a Health Check is the better first step. If a CPQ rollout already stalled, that is Implementation Recovery. Quoting for regulated and asset-heavy sectors is covered under Utilities and across our capabilities.
